Head of the FOS Office Support Service Olga Krainova and Human Rights Commissioner for the Leningrad Region Sergey Shabanov sign cooperation agreement

Ms Olga Krainova, head of the FOS Office Support Service, and Mr Sergei Shabanov, Human Rights Commissioner for the Leningrad Region, signed an agreement on cooperation. The signing ceremony was held in St. Petersburg on September 23, 2022.

The subject of the agreement is to organize interaction on exchange of information as well as coordination of work in performance by the parties of their powers in the established spheres of activity.

Under the agreement, the parties will be able to obtain, upon request, the necessary information and hold mutual consultations in the field of protection of human rights as consumers of financial services. Parties will assist in distribution of the most effective practices of rendering qualified legal assistance to citizens in respective spheres.

It is planned to organize joint events, including personal reception of citizens, seminars and round-table discussions.

‘Our joint interaction will allow covering a larger number of our citizens – consumers of financial services – with the protection. More people will be able to receive free legal assistance and the potential for improving financial literacy will increase,’ Ms Olga Krainova said.

The Human Rights Commissioner for the Leningrad Region is the head of the Coordinating Council of Human Rights Commissioners in the Northwest Federal District and a member of the Commissioners’ Coordinating Council under High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova.

Already in the near future, the St. Petersburg branch of the FOS Office Support Service is to take part in nationwide projects of the High Commissioner for Human Rights.
