Head of the Ombudsman for financial services consumers support Service and St Petersburg Commissioner for Human Rights sign an agreement on cooperation

Olga Kraynova, the head of the Ombudsman for financial services consumers support Service (OFSC), and Svetlana Agapitova, St Petersburg Commissioner for Human Rights, have signed an agreement on cooperation. The signing ceremony was held in St. Petersburg on December 9, 2022.

The subject of the agreement is to organize interaction on exchange of information as well as coordination of work while the parties exercise their powers in the established spheres of activities.

Under the agreement, the parties will be able to obtain, upon request, the necessary information and hold mutual consultations in the field of protection of human rights of consumers of financial services. Parties will assist in distribution of the most effective practices of rendering qualified legal assistance to citizens in respective spheres.

It is planned to organize joint events, including personal reception of citizens, seminars and round-table talks.

“Interaction with the Commissioner for Human Rights in St. Petersburg will provide an opportunity to combine efforts to protect the rights of consumers of financial services, which will allow a greater number of citizens to receive free legal assistance,” Olga Kraynova said.

Earlier, in September 2022, a similar cooperation agreement was signed by Olga Kraynova, the head of the (OFSC), and Sergey Shabanov, Commissioner for Human Rights for the Leningrad Region.
