Ombudsman for financial services consumers support Service and Tver Region’s authorised MFC conclude cooperation agreement

The Ombudsman for financial services consumers support Service (OFSC) and the Multifunctional Centre for the Provision of State and Municipal Services (MFC) of the Tver Region have entered into a cooperation agreement. In accordance with the document, residents of the Tver Region will have the opportunity to submit an appeal to the Financial Ombudsman in the user support sector* through any MFC branch in the region.

The document was signed by Olga Kraynova, Head of the OFSC, and Denis Prudnikov, Director of the Tver Region’s MFC.

As Olga Kraynova emphasised, one more region had joined the project on submission of appeals to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) through MFCs. To date, similar agreements have been signed with the authorised MFCs of Kaluga, Orel, Ulyanovsk and Ryazan regions, as well as the Republic of Chuvashia.

According to Olga Kraynova, “our goal is to provide an environment in which interaction between consumers of financial services and our Service is as easy and convenient as possible.” The Head of the OFSC also noted that filing an appeal to the Financial Ombudsman can always be done electronically on the FOS official website, on the Unified Portal of State and Municipal Services, or by regular mail.

“We will keep on developing active interaction with the governments of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation in general and authorised regional MFCs in particular,” Olga Kraynova pointed out specifically.

Earlier, Chief Financial Ombudsman Yury Voronin and Deputy Chairman of the Government – Minister of Finance of the Tver Region Marina Podtikhova had signed an agreement on interaction aimed at improving the legal and financial literacy of the region’s residents.

The agreement is certain to make it easier for Tver Region residents to gain knowledge and develop practical skills to protect their rights and legal interests in disputes with financial institutions.

* User Support Sector (USS) is a chain of specially equipped workplaces of multifunctional centres where applicants receive consulting, organisational and technical support when submitting requests for services electronically. In the USS an applicant can independently or with the aid of an MFC employee obtain services at the Unified Portal of State and Municipal Services, regional portals of state services, as well as use other state services. There is an opportunity to have the documents scanned necessary for the provision of state and municipal services and get a printout of the result of the service provision.
