The pilot issue of “The FOS Bulletin” has been published
“The Bulletin of the Financial Ombudsman Service” will be published in order to increase the information transparency of the FOS activities on the out-of-court resolution of disputes between consumers of financial services and financial institutions, said Chief Financial Ombudsman Yuri Voronin.
The pilot issue was made available on the FOS website on 18 August, 2020.
“The Bulletin of the Financial Ombudsman Service” is an official journal that publishes information on the FOS activities, comments on topical issues of the out-of-court resolution of disputes, statistical and analytical materials on the complaints from financial services consumers considered by financial ombudsmen.
The release of the pilot issue of “The FOS Bulletin” is timed to the publication of the annual report on the FOS activities in 2019, which aroused increased interest among participants of the financial market. The pilot issue contains an interview with First Deputy Governor of the Bank of Russia Sergei Shvetsov on the effectiveness of the FOS as an institution, as well as an interview with Chief Financial Ombudsman Yuri Voronin, in which he shares his impressions of his new job and talks about the FOS objectives. Financial Ombudsman Viktor Klimov describes in detail the practice of considering disputes on Compulsory Motor Third Party Liability Insurance. The intricacies of the work of the Ombudsman for financial services consumers support Service (OFSC) during the period of COVID-19 restrictive measures are disclosed by its head Olga Kraynova. President of the All-Russian Union of Insurers Igor Jürgens talks about how the insurance market evaluates the results of the first year of the FOS activities.
“The Bulletin of the Financial Ombudsman Service” is to become another instrument of communication between the FOS and financial market participants, consumers of financial services, government agencies, as well as anyone who is concerned with issues within the FOS competence, says Voronin.
