Monday - Friday from 8:00 to 20:00 (Moscow time), except public holidays, free call from regions of RussiaAccording to Olga Kraynova, head of the Ombudsman for financial services consumers support Service (OFSC), residents of five regions (Republic of Bashkortostan, Stavropol Territory, Sverdlovsk Region, Ulyanovsk Region, Kemerovo Region) will get the opportunity from April 1, 2023 to appeal to the Financial Ombudsman via a Multifunctional Centre for Provision of State and Municipal Services (MFC).
“We are constantly looking for ways to simplify consumers’ interaction with the Service when filing appeals to the Financial Ombudsman, to work out shortcuts to protect their rights. As part of this work, an agreement has been reached with the Russian Ministry of Economic Development to conduct a “pilot” test on filing an appeal to the Financial Ombudsman through MFCs in five regions,” Olga Kraynova said.
Based on the results of this pilot testing, a decision will be made to scale the project to all regions of Russia. The implementation of the project is expected to make it possible to implement fully the provision of the Law “On the Ombudsman for the Rights of Consumers of Financial Services”, which provides for the possibility of filing an application through an MFC.
“The MFC’s window has become a symbol of convenience for citizens when interacting with the state. Now it will be possible to file an appeal to protect their financial rights through the familiar system,” the head of the OFSC added.
The Centre for Strategic Research has become the administrator of the pilot project.
Currently, it is possible to file an appeal to the Financial Ombudsman electronically on the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) official website: https://finombudsman.ru/ , on the State Services portal, or to send an appeal by post.
