Monday - Friday from 8:00 to 20:00 (Moscow time), except public holidays, free call from regions of RussiaAnother region has joined the pilot project of filing appeals to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) through multifunctional centres (MFCs). Since June 1, 2023, residents of the Oryol region will have an opportunity to address the Financial Ombudsman through MFCs.
Thus, the Oryol region has become the sixth region to implement a pilot project using multifunctional centres. Since April 1, 2023, residents of the Republic of Bashkortostan, the Stavropol region, the Sverdlovsk region, the Ulyanovsk region and the Kemerovo region already have the opportunity to contact the Financial Ombudsman through MFCs.
The results of pilot testing will determine whether to scale up the project to all regions of the Russian Federation. The implementation of this project is expected to enable the full enforcement of the Law on the Financial Ombudsman, which provides for the possibility of filing an appeal through an MFC.
The Centre for Strategic Research has become the administrator of the pilot project.
At present, it is allowed to file an appeal to the Financial Ombudsman electronically via FOS official website at https://finombudsman.ru/, or through the State Services portal, or send an appeal by post.
“We are consistently looking for opportunities to ease consumers’ interaction with the Service when filing appeals to the Financial Ombudsman, to make the path to protecting their financial rights shorter. As part of this work, an agreement was reached with the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia to conduct a pilot test for filing appeals to the Financial Ombudsman through multifunctional centres providing state and municipal services,” says Olga Kraynova, head of the Ombudsman for financial services consumers support Service (OFSC).
