Residents of the Chuvash Republic can now appeal to the FOS through MFCs

The Ombudsman for financial services consumers support Service (OFSC) and the Chuvash Republic’s Autonomous Institution “Multifunctional Centre for the Provision of State and Municipal Services” of the Ministry of Economic Development and Property Relations of the Chuvash Republic (MFC) entered into a cooperation agreement on 14 November 2024. The agreement comes into force from the date of its signing by the parties.

Olga Kraynova, Head of the OFSC, and Marina Romanova, Acting Director of the Authorised MFC of the Chuvash Republic, put their signatures under the agreement. In accordance with the agreement, the residents of Chuvashia will now have the opportunity to submit an appeal to the Financial Ombudsman in the User Support Sector* through any regional MFC office.

As Olga Kraynova underlined, another region has thus joined the project on submission of appeals to the Financial Ombudsman through MFCs. Currently, similar agreements have been signed with authorised MFCs of Kaluga, Orel, Ulyanovsk and Ryazan regions.

According to the head of the OFSC, they “want the process of interaction of financial services consumers with the Service when submitting appeals to be comfortable, simple and convenient. It is also possible to send an appeal to the Financial Ombudsman electronically on the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) official website, on the Unified Portal of State and Municipal Services portal, or by regular mail,” Olga Kraynova pointed out.

“We will continue to develop active interaction with the governments of the subjects of the Russian Federation in general and authorised regional MFCs in particular,” the head of the OFSC noted.

* User Support Sector (USS) refers to specially equipped workplaces of multifunctional centres where consulting and organisational and technical support is provided to applicants when they submit requests for services electronically. In the USS an applicant can independently or with the aid of an MFC employee obtain services on the Unified Portal of State and Municipal Services (Functions), regional portal of state services, as well as use other state services. In the USS an applicant can have the documents necessary for the provision of state and municipal services scanned and the result of the service provision printed out.
