New issue of the “Bulletin of the Financial Ombudsman Service” appears

The latest issue of the “Bulletin of the Financial Ombudsman Service” has become available on the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) website. It can be accessed via the following link:

The new issue provides analytical information about appeals to the Financial Ombudsman Service in 2022. Chief Financial Ombudsman Yury Voronin speaks in his column about consumers’ appeals against credit institutions. The article contains some proposals of the FOS to improve the degree of protection of the rights of consumers of the credit institutions’ services.

The contribution by head of the Ombudsman for financial services consumers support Service (OFSC) Olga Kraynova is focused on the FOS Contact Centre, which celebrated its 3rd anniversary in January 2023. The paper touches on the way digitalization and new technologies have influenced its work and brought about new services.

One of the key contributions is the review of unacceptable practices in the fourth quarter of 2022, which have been identified by the Financial Ombudsman among financial institutions in the process of consideration of consumer appeals.

Aleksandr Tsyganov, a member of the FOS Expert Council, in his interview to the “Bulletin” talks about the role of the expert community in the improvement of the financial services consumer protection system.
