Monday - Friday from 8:00 to 20:00 (Moscow time), except public holidays, free call from regions of RussiaRepresentatives of the Ombudsman for financial services consumers support Service (OFSC) told the social coordinators of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation about the institution of the Financial Ombudsman and the mandatory out-of-court dispute resolution procedure.
According to Olga Kraynova, Head of the OFSC, it was also explained by the OFSC employees during their presentation how one should appeal to the Financial Ombudsman, practical examples of disputes considered by the Financial Ombudsman were provided, as well as some aspects of interaction between the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) and the servicemen of the Special Military Operation (SMO) and their family members were also emphasised.
“In addition, recommendations were provided on what a consumer should do if his/her rights have been violated, as well as what services the FOS has available for convenient and prompt interaction with citizens,” Olga Kraynova noted.
The meeting with the Foundation’s social coordinators was held as a webinar. It was attended by about 1000 social coordinators, whose job is to provide targeted assistance to SMO servicemen and their families in Russian regions. On average, there are about 100 supervised servicemen per coordinator.
The enlightening webinar with the OFSC was organised as part of the implementation of the Roadmap for Improving Financial Literacy, signed in 2024 by the Bank of Russia and the Defenders of the Fatherland State Foundation.
In accordance with the document, the Foundation, in co-operation with the Bank of Russia, organises regular events aimed at improving the financial literacy of SMO servicemen and their family members.
The OFSC took part in the event at the invitation of the Central Federal District Head Office of the Bank of Russia.
“In the year 2025, declared by the Decree of the Russian President as the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland, the OFSC has arranged to participate in the events planned by the Foundation aimed at improving financial literacy and protecting the property rights of SMO servicemen and their families,” Olga Kraynova pointed out.
