The FOS simplifies interaction with consumers of financial services

The Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) has simplified the procedure for interaction with consumers of financial services by enabling applicants to register in a personal account on the FOS website through an account on the State Services portal.

The USIA (Unified System of Identification and Authentication) provides the ability to access all government websites and portals with a master login and password.

Since 1 August 2021, clients of financial institutions have been able to click «Log in via USIA» button and enter their login and password from the USIA, when first contacting the Financial Ombudsman Service and creating a personal account on the FOS website. This action will enable all of the consumer’s data to be downloaded from the State Services portal, and the consumer does not have to fill in information about themselves in their personal account on the FOS website.

Connecting the FOS website to the USIA portal allows the user to be properly identified, making it possible to prevent the use of other people’s personal data and identity swapping when contacting the Financial Ombudsman.
