On December 6, 2022, Chief Financial Ombudsman Yury Voronin was awarded a Commendation by Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko “For services in the field of economy and financial activities, and longstanding conscientious work”.
The Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) has been in place since 2018, and during this time has established stable interaction with the Federation Council. Yury Voronin regularly participates in meetings of the Council for Financial Market Development under the Russian Federation Council. Thus, in December 2021 he delivered a report “On the results of the work and further development of the institution of the Financial Ombudsman, as well as on improvement of mechanisms to protect the rights of consumers of financial services”, and in December 2022 he delivered a report on “The Financial Ombudsman Service: Results and Development Prospects”.
Yury Voronin is an acknowledged expert in the theory and practice of social and financial legislation, the organization and operation of social security and pension insurance systems, and the protection of rights of financial services consumers.
