The Ombudsman for financial services consumers support Service (OFSC) and Saratov Office of Rospotrebnadzor sign a cooperation agreement

The autonomous non-profit organization «Ombudsman for financial services consumers support Service» (OFSC) and Saratov Regional Department of the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare (Rospotrebnadzor) signed an agreement on cooperation.

The signing was attended by Ekaterina Surmeneva, head of Saratov Branch No. 1 of the OFSC, and Olga Kozhanova, head of Saratov Regional Department of the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare.

The agreement envisages cooperation between the parties in terms of mutual consultations on the protection of consumer rights, provision of methodological support within the available competences, participation in educational and awareness programmes for consumers, etc.

«Interaction and timely exchange of information under the agreement will not only allow us to identify violations of legal requirements in the activities of financial institutions swiftly and promptly, but also to prevent them from occurring,» Ekaterina Surmeneva remarked.

Saratov Branch of the OFSC opened in April 2019. It performs some of the functions of the OFSC, including that of assisting the financial ombudsman in preparing complaints from consumers of financial services for consideration and review.
